About me

Since fall 2019, I am a Professor

(Bonn Junior Fellow)

at the University of Bonn,

Hausdorff Center for Mathematics,

and since spring 2021, also an Asst. Professor at Aalto University.

In 2016-2019, I was a Postdoc in the group of  Prof. Stanislav Smirnov

at the University of Geneva,

Section of Mathematics.

I did my studies and PhD (2016) in

the University of Helsinki, where

I mostly studied mathematics (major) and theoretical physics (minor).

I am a mathematician working on problems motivated by physics: scaling limits of planar lattice models and conformal field theories. I try to combine different methods to tackle problems in this area. My research interests include (but are not limited to) correlation functions, crossing probabilities, Schramm-Loewner evolutions, and scaling limits. I am also interested in understanding algebraic structures therein; e.g., representation theory of quantum groups, diagram algebras, and vertex operator algebras.

Research interests

Schramm-Loewner evolutions

Understanding SLEs and their variants and relating them to critical lattice models and CFT.

Conformal Field Theory

Making sense of CFTs as scaling limits of critical lattice models, and using tools from CFT in probabilistic problems.

Algebraic structures

E.g. Temperley-Lieb algebra, its variants, and quantum groups in relation with critical lattice models, SLE, and correlation functions of CFT.

Critical phenomena and integrability

Understanding statistical physics models at and near criticality.
